I currently have the echo 230ln handheld which i really like using because it is so quick and easy to grab and fairly light. I came across an almost new PB-403 for sale for only $100. The specs are fairly similar except for engine size. Will this blower be much more powerful than the one i have or no?

160mph 180mph

They seem similar to me but I cannot see how a 44cc engine only makes a little more power than a 22.8 cc. To me that is a 4 cylinder in a truck against a v-8 in a truck. Someone enlighten me. Thanks.

It's actually pretty simple. Specs really mean literally nothing. We had a thread yesterday where the comparison was between a Craftsman backpack and the Stihl BR420. Specs are very similar but the real world performance is easily in favor of the Stihl BR420.

If you can pick up that blower for 100 bucks you better jump on it.

will it be a lot stronger than my handheld that i already have. if it is similar then id rather wait for a deal on a bigger blower. But if it will be good enough to use on leaf cleanups then Ill get this one. Thanks.

Unless you're ready to step up to the $500 backpack range you should buy the 403. It will be easier and faster then the handheld.

i doubt it, this guy is about 65, he seems like one of those homeowners that always has to have the best equipment, he said he didnt realize how heavy a blower like that would be lol. oh well I get a good deal i guess.

For 100.00 I would buy it just for a back up, true its not a power house but for the money it should be ok and you should be able to trade it in or sell it outright for the same or maybe even make a few dollars on it.

First of all, it is a inexpensive back-up blower to purchase. $100.00 for anything Echo is a good deal.

Regarding power...I tried a 403 because I did not want to spend the big $$$ on the 650. I was sorely disappointed in the performance and returned it to the dealer within 60 minutes of purchase. It is no different than putting a sling on your handheld and claiming it is a backpack. It is grossly underpowered for what you are thinking.
