For thew first time I am moving pretty hard into the commercial market - obviously the grade and type of equipment changes with the clients. Looking at the 61'' Scag - big question comes with engine choice the 29hp Kawi, or the 31hp Vanguard. Like to hear some pros and cons from guys that have used em.

Go for the kawi, is it fuel injected or carb?

They make those mowers with a Kohler 28hp fuel injected. Boy does it save on gas. Use maybe 2-3 gallons a day compared to others who use 5-8 maybe more a day. It's worth the money. I demoed one with the Kohler and it was awesome. Only thing I didn't like was it was HEAVY.

I would go with the Kawasaki engine. I have one on my Scag Tiger Cub and absolutely love it to death. I will never buy one new now that doesn't have a Kawasaki engine....lol......that is definitiley my first choice.

I have the 29hp Kawasaki on my Turf Tiger. It is the Didital Fuel Injection. Plenty of power and great on gas. Just turned over 1000 hours with no problems.

I'd go with the kawasaki. The fuel savings from the digital fuel injection will really add up.
