I was thinking about maybe sometime down the road getting a Little Giant Ladder for shrubs , cutting limbs and etc. I've used one before helping my mother paint her house, and it was great! It seems real durable, and you can climb up both sides of it. It seems really versatile. And this is coming from someone who is not a sucker for products shown on TV infomercials. But they seem expensive though, and I am a very cheap person.
Does anyone use them, and does it seem like you're getting your money's worth out of them on landscaping type work?

I have not used it in landscape work but I have one in Handyman service. It is great. Very stable, strong, solid, well built, Well worth the money as it is very versatile. But I can not answer the landscape question, sorry, though I believe it would be good. The fact that it can lean close (drop one side)to a tree is a good thing.
And of course, How could you doubt AL???:p

I have used on many times. They are a great piece of equipment. Like PMLAWN I used it in constuction applications. Cant beat them working on stairs. I used it until the joints wore out, 5 years and then all you have to do is buy replacemnents. One draw back, if you use it to go straight up.... it has a pretty good sag in the middle..... you have to get use to that. I would buy it!

Our company has the 21 footer for changing bulbs in the shop and certain tree work. It is terrific but there is another company making a ladder like it at about half the cost.
Do some searching

Costco, We got ours there. Pretty much the same as the Little Giant. Much Cheaper.

I thought Little Giant ladders were only available from the infomercials. But, I saw one yesterday at a hardware store, $369.99. Wow!
I too had thought of getting something like this ladder for shrub trimming. But, I found a couple of fiberglass ladders (throw-aways that only needed the top plate replaced) that didn't cost much. Now, I have an 8ft, 3 6ft and a 4ft ladders, to use with a couple of 2X8 planks, 8 ft long. Over time, I've learned to be creative in how to use the ladders/planks. They give me much flexibility on configurations. A versitile ladder like Little Giant might be for productive in some situations, but I don't want to spend that kind of money on something used so infrequently.

Thanks everyone.
Yeah, I'll check out the prices the Home Depot or Costco ladders. I did not know they sold them. Again, Thanks. I have a lot of hilly areas where I'm doing trimming with a tall regular style ladder. It's hard to position it in a spot to prevent it from jiggling around. And whenever you lock the center part in place, the metal bends.

You will get what you pay for! Little Giant ladders cost what they do because of quality and durability. Look at the weight capacity, the pins and the hinge mechanism. I have used Little Giant ladders in the fire service, home building and remodeling and landscaping and there is not a better or more versatile ladder out there. Yes, they are expensive, but I have had one for more than 10 years that gets used almost daily and is in pristine shape. Don't forget to get that folding step/platform, it makes life much easier.

Good point, yeah I'll also use that as a comparison.

The Little Giant is the only folding ladder approved for fire service use. If you've ever seen the annual tests fire dept. ladders go through you would buy one at twice the price they want for them.

I have one and I use it for everything. Use it to get on roofs to clean gutters. to prune trees, Hang lights, Trim hedge , and use it for scaffolding. Never had a problem and feel secure. They are a little heavy though but not that much as they are easy to carry.

My department has a LG on every engine and ladder Truck. They are good ladders. But I bought a Werner version and it operates just as easy and is well built also, no problems after alot of use. Price was 1/3....
The company that tested our ladders this year stated that they don't test LG's because they are not "fire service ladders".

Well, considering I'm not a fireman and don't use it everyday and I don't need fire department approval I bought the Costco version. Was a hundred or two cheaper. Going on three years old and still works. Granted I don't use it day in and day out so I can't say that much on the durability...but it still works. And for less than 200 bucks I'll buy a brand new one if it breaks and take the tax write-off.

My brother has the one from Home Depot. It was a Christmas gift from his wife. He uses it all the time and loves it. I was checking it out and it is pretty cool!

I use the one made by Werner, it is less expensive and seems to be made just as well. It is a great time saver and great on un-even surfaces. I use it mainly for tall hegdes...............Great product...........

I've used the Gorilla ladder several times. For some things it's great... for other things you can do a lot better.
For when you are doing leaf clean-ups and need to get onto a roof, it should be fine. If you need to change light bulbs, paint, etc. it's great. For doing SOME shrub work it's great. It's extremely sturdy as an A frame.
For using it to climb up a tree... been there, broke that. For doing large hedges, you'd be better off with an orchard ladder.
For having something to carry in your enclosed trailer though every day, I don't think you could beat this thing.
