In the past 2 weeks gas price in SC have gone up 25 cents a gallon. They say it could be up over$ 2.00 in the south by mid june. I bet W is very happy about this and the oil companies know hes on their side and will keep jacking the prices up higher than ever.

Buy some stock in Shell or Standard Oil and reap the benefits, if you can't beat em join em!

I would not even apply the brakes if an oil exec stepped off the curb in front of me!!!!!!!

definately dont buy stock in shell. shell is breaking off its merger and the dealers are hurting. my dad owns two mobils and he heres gas is going to go way up too. too bad the shelf life of gas is only 31 days otherwise you could fill a few tankers up to save some bucks.

Gas has increased a dime per gallon since last Friday, 4/6/01. Too bad my Chevy HD 2500 loves the stuff.

WE took a little road trip down to baton rouge/ new orleans. I almost took the crew cab but decided to take the concord. I am so glad we did. I filled the car up at a station and happened to be next to a diesle pump. $1.98/gal.!!!!!!!!!!! I figured it was higher up herre in north louisiana rather than deep south. I was wayyyyyyy wrong. I just can not wait til we get hit with the price hike!! Be happy you gas burners can atleast go from an expensive grade to a low grade and can save up to 30 cents a gallon doing so. Diesle guys do not have the luxury :( I do admit I am getting better milage than the old SLUGurban. I remember the days diesle was cheaper than the lowest grade of regular gas..now it is up there with premium.
I just noticed that they jumped up Monday. Oh well. Such as life, now we have an excuse for raising prices.

87 octane went from 1.39 to 1.62 in less than 2 weeks but then Wisconsin didn't vote for W. I didn't either.

One of the major truck stops here went from 1.32 last Monday to a 1.51 today. They actually went up twice today. The SOB's are only doing this because of vacation time is coming up. I've been watching the barrel prices for years and there is no justifcation for the rise in prices. The only lame excuse they are giving is that the refineries are switching over to the oxygenated gas for certain area this summer. The bent us over this past winter for fuel oil, natural and propane gas. Now they're going to get us this summer for gasoline. Don't get me started I hate the oil companies. They screwed in the 70's and took 15-20 years to admit to it. The same applies here. I feel sure that someday we probably will run out of crude oil, so nows the time to find alternatives. How about a hydrogen powered mower.

Unfortunately I am able to watch out my office window the prices go up every day.
The current price is = regular $1.53 plus $1.63 super $1.73 Exxon and Phillips 66 same price. That picture some one posted earlier of the guy on the bicycle may not be that far off .LOL
Heard from a guy that works for ExxoMobil corporate the old refineries are in need of repair and we are footing the bill.
“Yes ma’am we is needn a new moter fur our mower and we got to charge you a hunred dolers extre to mow your graas” probably would not get a positive response.

I had to pay $1.519 for regular today. You cant even bump the nozzle to get that extra penny to make it an rounded figure. Every time you bump it now it goes up 2 cents. It took me 5 tries and an extra two bucks to get an even figure.

Charles you kill me. I knew you would connect/blame W for this, you sure were silent about it when prices were MUCH higher than this with Clinton in office! Work fuel prices are lower, diesel $1.34 a gallon here, and $1.19 in GA.
IT'S A HOLIDAY WEEKEND, PRICES ALWAYS GO UP, NO MATTER WHO IS IN OFFICE. If you don't like W fine, please stop bashing him for every little thing, all the time. Again, prices were higher with Clinton.

I am not really sure what gas costs by me now. I have to have it regardless the price. You gotta roll with the punches. Maybe the people who don't like the prices could boycott buying it!

Kirby, I never have paid 1.53 for gas in May. July is when the gas prices shot up last year i think. I say W has no sympathy for high energy prices. He showed that in california by not regulating the wholesalers who are making a mint off this energy "crisis" And I dont thing W bashing is against the posting guidlines :). And for 8 long years clinton was bashed to oblivion. And why is it when I talk about W screwing up everyone says "WEll clinton did it" I thought W was suppose to be better then clinton???? I could go on but I wont in this section of the forum. W is a oil man and his daddy is an oil man nuff said.

I heard a few years ago about a guy that was touring the country promoting the fact that he was running on used french fry grease!
He would stop at fast food joints and collect their used oil in their vats (FREE!!!)
Diesels can use this with no modifications to the engine.
I assume that means y'all w/ diesel mowers as well!

I saw Regular for $1.79, Mid grade $1.89, and Premium $1.99 and from what I hear, this is just the beginning. :(
Diesel is $1.62, the same price it was when we could get regular a few weeks ago for $1.32

Eric's prices pretty much mirror ours in central Fl. I guess W has to raise gas prices to produce more tissues for crybabies like Charles. Oh well, and good luck. Russ

Here in the San Francisco mid-peninsula, last monday the 9th, it was 1.83.9 for 89 octane. Today, same station is up to 2.04.9 for 89 octane. Easter holiday and annual gas hike started today. I paid over $73 for 36 gallons of bubble. $2.15 to $2.20 is expected by the memeroial weekend.
Throw in the fact that California in general is paying the highest electrical, gas rates (our gas and electric supplier is bankrupt)in the U.S., you can see how all businesses are being hurt. Just have to raise the prices again.:(

Last year , I held the line on MY prices to my customers.
NOT this year !!!! Everybody will get a price increase if ( when) gas goes over 2:00 $ a gallon. If they don't like it, tough. find somebody else. Gas already went from 1.64 Mobil regular on TUESDAY, to 1.79 Mobil regular today. I wish I could pull my eguipment with my VW, or my Yamaha !!!!

Regardless of who is to blame for the gas prices, we all need some form of petrol for our machines. Instead of wringing my hands over it, I choose to go after more work to foot the bill, plus some extra, of course.

Want something to cry over? I was talking to my dad the other day and he heard that by summer we could be looking at 3 bucks a gallon! 3 BUCKS!

hello,
Looks like I may be tapping into the supply of excess AVGAS again at work.....Hate to do it though.
Gas prices went up about 10 cents overnight here....ouch, and I'm sure they'll continue from this point on.
The Avgas is free, but I would hate to burn it in my brand new 2500HD with 6.0L. Its 100 octane/low lead, and burns hot. I use to run it in a S10, and had no major problems, but with a new truck I am leary.
Then again, if I mix the tank half and half, it isn't so bad, but still, no matter how I look at it, this increased price in gas is going to hurt. I drive close to 400 miles a week just going to my full time job, not including any of my sidework.
Just got my hands on a 88 suburban with 6.2 liter diesel. I may try to start using that as my commuter.....of course that will run on JET A (we also have excess jet fuel, which will burn in a diesel motor). That one I don't mind if it gets screwed up, and the savings over a few months could easily equal any damage.......hopefully.

Sounds like he invested smart then. Besides, whose business is it if anybody makes any amount from oil stocks?

CSRA, its all our business how the VP and the prez make their money since they are suppose to be unbiased and do whats best for the country as a whole. Who do you think the VPs will have in mind when advising the prez on policy--the big oil companies that who. So his stock will keep going up and up. This is why we seriously need campaign finance reform so we can get back some control of our government. Because most of the politicians are bought and paid for by special interest groups and corporations. And for those who say go with the flow and not complain. Thats what the Jews did right before they went to the gas chambers. Thats what sheep do. I use gas in most of my equipment not deisel. But remember when deisel went way up last year and all the truckers went crazy? Maybe thats why deisel is not jumping up so high--- yet

Charles, you've hit the mark, partially. I'm all for putting pressure in the right places to protect our investments. I think that we probably don't need to discuss things such as CFR on a forum for commercial lawncare, personally. Instead of complaining to one another, why don't we complain to our congressmen? Otherwise we'll be like a man that thinks he's leading and he has no following - not leading at all, just taking a walk.
I agree that gas prices have gone far too high but a part of that is because there is no real domestic energy policy and we have too much reliance on foreign oil. OPEC just loves controlling the supply of oil to the US and they play games all the time, putting pressure on our gov't. That is the source of most of the attack, not domestic oil companies. Let's keep things in perspective.
