We are not cutting yet in western New York, getting close though. Everyone arround here is going crazy with clean ups cause the winter ended last week and the grass will be ready for a blade next week.

I started today. It seemed good smelling the freshly cut grass. It was in the low 70's today and we got more rain last night, and tonight, so we are going to be rolling full blast next week. :D

Been mowing for about 3 weeks now and I'm mowing my own about every 5 days when I find the time. The pollen just showed up here 2 days ago and came on the fastest I've ever seen it. Probably because we set 2 record highs in the last 2 days, 89 Mon and 90 Tues. Suppose to be near normal next week and the recent rains we got are drying up fast. I was in Charlotte today and it was so hazy it looked like fog.

Probably starting the 23rd. If I want to push it I could mow a few lawns a day next week but Id rather try and finish spring cleanups. As it is theres still snow in some spots but Im just cleaning around em.

It's like grass here started growing like wild over night.
We've been cutting for three full days, and everyone needs cut now. The rain here is slowing us down some, but it sure is making the grass grow.
We are looking at a good two weeks before we venture out. There are still some snow piles left around where the plows piled up. So yeah, still waiting, but recent rain will only help. Perhaps cutting down on the time. Good luck to everyone.
Been mowin for 2 weeks. Temps have been in the mid to high 80's the last couple of days here in western KY

Hey rochester,
I was in your neck of the woods the other day. Went to look at some machines. What a wast of time that was. I drove all over east roch, webster, peenfield, ect. You guy's really beat up your equipment , at least the ones I looked at. I live in western NY. Near olean. Shure is nice to see the grass gettin green aee..... happy cuttin.. Just bought one of those powerbrooms .. wow ...what a time saver.

Have mowed a few just to even out and cleanup or mulch leaves. But, will be be mowing all commercials and a couple residentials this Friday. I wanted to mow today, but rain storms for last few days have made them way too soggy and rain tonight and tomarrow will not help, so Friday is the day.
Will be full blown mowing next week.

I'm just starting with spring clean-ups. There has been alot of lingering snow cover in shaded area's, and alot of properties are so soaked it will take a week of sunshine to dry them out enough to work on. My best guess on mowing will be 4 weeks out.

Does new grass just grow through the snow mold? I have some large areas in addition to the standard circles.
Do you rake it up or just let new grass come through?

I started full operations here in Indiana about 2 weeks ago. Now the current storms and rain are delaying things alittle.

All mine have been mowed 2-4 times already.
I've only cut 2 lawns so far. Last year I started cutting on March 27th. The season is running about 3 weeks behind. We've had lots of rain, but not much sunshine.
