Just wondering?

How important is it to have a good name for your business? Are there any words that i should use in naming my business that would be more likely to catch a customers eye. How important is this ?

I'd say very important. You want it to be memorable when its not infront of them and it can't be confussed easily with another company. Even reversing the order of he names can have an effect. Green and Clean vs. Clean and Green. What if there was another company that simply had the name reversed. Look in the Yellow Pages and often you'll see stuff like that. You know one of the most common questions Asplundh Tree Expert gets is how do you pronounce it? That combined with large orange trucks does great advertising for them finally to the point where they started taking on private work ( well at least here anyway ). Once again its what people will associate you with so take some time and the more unique the better. jmy.02

I would suggest using words to go along with what you do...

As far as customers go... The more they see a name the more they will remember it, so advertising with a business name, lettered trucks, biz cards, fliers, ect... is very important.

Find a name that is unique. Be creative. Stay away from personal names or initials in the name like, Bob's Lawn Care or TJ's Lawn Care. Flip though a dictionary or a thesaurus and look up synonyms of words, that's how I arrived at my name, 'Precision'.

Your name will be very important try to think of something that will catch the customers eye!! I would not use your last name or anything like that!! I have used my first and last name, followed by "lawncare" for 7 years now and have ALWAYS had more business than I can possibly handle and am CONSTANTLY turning people away. I think the most IMPORTANT thing is to do quality work and be honest,dependable and fairly priced,IMHO. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I haven't seen them online lately but there used to be a member named Twins Lawn Care.
