How do you guys think a 1996 F-150 would handle and ez dump? I would in stall airbags on the rear axle. Is has the 351 motor.

The airbags will keep the truck from sagging, but the rest of the truck will suffer if you put more than around 1500 lbs. in the insert. The weight will be hard on the rear axle bearings, and your brakes will wear out faster. If you're going to invest in a dump insert, it would be money well spent to trade up to a HD 3/4 or 1 ton truck. You'll have about double the usuable payload.

A dumper in a 1/2 ton is going to wear it out fast. Before you buy an insert, you need to know how much the truck can legally carry with a dump insert. Take your truck to a scale, weigh it and add 700-1000 lbs, subtract that number from your GVW and that's how much you can legally haul with a dumper. My guess is about 500-750 lbs.
