when I checked with the PA Department of State, I couldnt believe this name wasnt being used either, so I couldnt get my check and registartion form in quick enough!...it is a half ton....good on gas, nice and short for plowing...big enough to get the trailer around...the trailer is 16'

You don`t have any trouble plowing with a 1/2 ton?
Are you just plowing driveway`s or do you have any lot`s?
by the way sweet set-up....

senior discounts depend on what service they are getting and the dollar factor of their neighborhood, but usually 5-10%....I plow lots... and dont have any trouble...I do have 700lbs of weight in the truck...it was in there when I took the picks, thats why the truck is down a little in the back....

striking colors! the read really catches your attension.
Do yourself and the truck a favor and purchase a set of load timbrens,it will help alleviate stress on the suspension parts while under a load. They make them for the back and the front.

Sorry to be negetive, but just read your equipment list....
Seems that money could have been spent elsewhere?
Awe... Getting off topic, sorry.

jblawns123....if you combined cost of the truck and trailer, your right, I could have spent that on some nicer, larger equipment. However, Id have no way of getting the equipment to the job. Also, being a start-up to full time, all the accounts I have from part time do not require anything larger right now. The truck is a 99 and had 83K when I bought it. Didnt want to go any more miles or years than that, so the money spent there was about as low as I thought I could resonably go. The trailer is new and enclosed. Reasoning there; didnt want an open trailer for many reasons: I rent where I live and needed the xtra "garage" space....Theft, I did have a mower stolen before...more organization while at a job, the advertising space it allows, has a more professional appearance. If you look at the cost of a GOOD used enclosed to a new one in my area, makes more sense to get the new. The trailer was $4000, so even if I bought a new open at the same size, the money left over would not have been enough to buy much. The lettering was $600. IMO, a professional look is very important in any business. So if you lettered less and cheaper the money saved wouldnt have been much to add to up grading equipment. Those are some of the thought processes I used when organizing to go full time, right wrong, or indiffernt those are the choices I have made and will work with as I grow the business. You were not being negative by the comments, I appreciate all input I get here at lawnsite. :)

Hey Keystone, Iv'e seen your truck around town but I wasn't quite sure what is was (lettering) only because it catches my eye and by that time I'm already past you.lol. If you have any questions or anything don't hesitate to call We're in the Talking Phone book under Landscape and design. Hope things are going well so far, we just bought out a company so I don't think we're going to do much advertising, I dont want to become overwhelmed with mowing this year. Its great to see a new lawn care company that is taking this seriously, good luck. Bye the way with our new purchase we have some equipment that is going to be for sale, call us if interested and I can let you know whats on the list.
