How many of you guys run 2 men crews and on a average residential yard 7500-10000 sq, how many is expected in a 8 hr day to get cut.

I run 2 man crews on residentals. As far as how many in a 8 hr. day, it depends on lots of things, like how far apart are they, how far from the shop is the first and last one. My customer coverage area is pretty big so I usually schedule 8 to 12 yards a day for a crew. We have done as many as 16 in a day.

As previously mentioned, it really depends on the size of the properties. With a helper and a tight route I've been able to knock out as many as 16 in a day. My best day running solo was 14, but by the end of the day I didn't know if I was comming or going.

considering 10,000 sq. is only 100x100, and too small for us if that is your max average, if you can't knock off 25 a day your whistling dixie.

I have been solo for 7 yrs now and I have been mowing between 13 and 15 a day by myself. This year I am hiring someone to work with me and it just wont be worth it if I cant get at least 20 a day done.

With the right equipment you should be able to do at least 20 lawns per days.

due to different sizes of lawns, maybe a better question would be how much do your 2 man crews gross in an 8 hr day? I run 2-2man crews and they make around $500 to $600 in 8 hrs. Alot of the time they are out 9-10 hrs and then they do around $600 to $750. Thats what we do. Some make more some make less.....

Two man crew, 20 to 32 lawns/day. But our average lawn is only 5,800k and takes 2 guys 15 to 16 minutes from Park to Drive. We average 2.9 lawns per hr with drive time. I wouldn't mind getting more of the 3-4,000k lawns that we can do in about 7-8 minutes, for $25, that's a lot better than our 20,000k lawns that take us nearly 30 minutes for $40-45. Maybe if we had a big ZTR but we just run WBs.

My wife and I (2 person crew) some days we do four properties, but they are a 20 acre, and 23 acre, a 1 1/2 acre and a 1 acre. That takes us 8 hrs. counting drive, load unload etc, and we do a 40 acre county that is lots of campground, picnic areas scattered around, takes 8hr. day + 4hr. day.

And quite honestly, if you're bidding against Mr. Flex-Deck and his gang mowers we already know that you have no chance of winning that bid. He's the example we are all warning you about. If you can't afford to take on big jobs for less than $15/acre you may as well get your getty-up and get it goin'.

Excuse Me - I have a $35 minimum for the postage stamps. On the big properties, I basically bid $25-30 per acre even on the biggie boys. We just do a better job that the rest. $15/acre where did you get that?????:gunsfirin :gunsfirin

I charge $15 per acre - takes 2 hrs 40 min. Out front will be a little more as there is more trimming. I shoot for $75 per hr. Hopefully the front will net more like $80-90.
