Kirby that was the sole purpose behind the decision! It is a Wells Cargo and I will be 39 on Easter Sunday! Yippeee. No more birthdays after this one, I'm not having anymore.
Those of you that have enclosed trailers, what type of rack system do you use. I can't keep this stuff on the floor!

Homer, now that sounds like an awesome Birthday present.
Hope ya doing well. Things are going pretty well. My partner and I have paid down all our debt. It felt good to be able to pay off our mower before the first payment was due. I hate paying interest.
My goal for this month is to double our business and I believe we will do it.
Ok Homer it has been awhile since I've chatted with ya. I hope you enjoy your new trailer and have a wonderful day.

Ooooh, I'm drooling, and jealous! :) Congrats Homer! I went and looked at a 8.5x18 haulmark the other day. Can't quite afford it yet. But the accounts are starting to roll in, and I have a couple of sod bids out, so who knows?
What brand did you get?
Well Homer, Congrats on your birthday! How many is it this year??! Glad to hear you got a new trailer, are you going to get it all lettered up? They make the best moving billboards in the business. Way to go

Happy Birthday Homer !!!!!!!
Well I'll be 4HUHUHUHUHUHUHUHU Ahhh
Oh nevermind that,
I have got the Husqvarna Grid Iron.
Very nice, all pieces fully adjustable and good locking system. I put it on my 12 X 16 open trailer but it actually works in an enclosed.

Happy Birthday,
I have an Avenger 7x16 enclosed. For the racks I went with the Green Touch stuff. Easy to install and the stuff is heavy duty. Stay away from the gas can racks... they are too generic. If you have a 2001 Redmax blower stay away from the blower rack as it wont fit due to the new design. I will be posting pics of my trailer soon... it looks pretty sweet with the cabinet and full size toolbox.... yep I said full size toolbox. Got me one of them Craftsman 5' tall deals. Holds everything. Another thing you should do is letter that puppy. You can get vinyl applied for about $700 on all four sides.
Again Happy Birthday and have fun with your new toy!

Happy BDAY. You aren't that far behind. My enclosed only hauls a sprayer and Chems.
happy birthday.
We run the 24' wells cargo. Ours have alot of options, side door, front shelf, cabinets, trimmer trap - 4 holder rack for weedeaters, and 2 individual trimmer traps for blowers. Trimmertrap brand still does hold the new redmax eb7000. We also have a wire mesh "bin" where I'll put the mix gas can, trash bags, etc. There is also a one piece holder for hand tools. I put a ratchet strap over this so that rakes, brooms, spades etc. stay on the rack when rounding a corner. In one of our trailers that doesn't have the cabinets, we made two "shelves", the width of the trailer, to hold everything that that crew needs. On the front of the trailer is a 30+- gal. gas tank for the machines.

Bam,
Mine has the side door but no racks or cabinets! I sure would like to see some pictures of yours or anybody's as far as that goes to see how they are set up.
I have a question concerning the battery attached to the tongue. If it goes dead do you lose your brakes? I smelled battery acid yesterday so I touched the thing and it was pretty warm, today I noticed my brakes weren't working! I went out a little while ago and turned the lights on inside the trailer and they didn't work either! Wuz up wi dat?
The brakes should operate off the truck shouldn't they?

The little battery is a breakaway only-it should only work when you pull the clip out of the breakaway chain. You can test it by unplugging the wiring, pull the breakaway ,and try to pull the trailer-all 4 wheels should lock-I know DOT checks them this way.Your brakes get signal, and power thru the brake controller at all times. Most trailer with the six wire plug use the running light wiring for the interior lighting,to save wiring, and to keep from having to change to the 7 pin connector,so turn on your running lights on the truck-and try the interior lights again.I use the 7 wire RV plug-and use the aux wire to charge the breakaway, and for interior lights on cargo trailer.Your Dodge is wired with aux wire already hot-so it should be easy to change the wiring -if you need to.

Everything worked fine yesterday! Lights, brakes, the whole nine yards. Today I noticed as I was pulling out of the driveway the indicator light on my brake controller was real faint. Then I noticed when I manually actuated the brakes using the controller that they didn't work. I pulled the plug out of the 7-way and noticed some corrosion and I'm hoping that it is a bad connection. I still don't understand the battery "smell" I was smelling yesterday. The lights worked without the truck being hooked up because we tried them before I pulled the trailer the first time.

I have to replace the 7 way connectors once a yr,I plow though-an I use the connector to power backup lights, and charge wires to my V-box spreader. It seems like the brake terminal always corrodes first too-all the rest will be fine-that one is shot.It must be the high current going thru that terminal. If you can power your interior light with your breakaway-yours is a lot bigger than mine-mine is the small one-I think it would die in 5 minutes with lights on.

Let me get this straight. I ran the lights in the trailer for about an hour last night. They had to be running off the little battery. I more than likely killed the battery by doing this. Will the truck re-charge the battery or do I need to use a charger to bring it back up?

Homer,
You ran without the trailer hooked up to the car? Mine wont do this at all. If yours has a battery then its probably dead. You may have a wiring problem cuz I thought that thing was just for the brakes. It shouldnt be giving power to the accessory lights. Then again you have a different trailer and I'm no expert :) Try hooking up to the truck with the engine on for about 15 minutes. If you get lights then it should charge when you take it out... worst case is that it puts a little more stress on your trucks brakes. If not then take it back to the trailer dealer and PLAY DUMB. You may also want to get the anti-corrosion compound for the connection.
Just my nickel 'n dime
I can ask a mechanic what the battery is for on the trailer itself. It might be for the breakaway. We haven't had problems, when they are inspected each year, any bad component is replaced. The power for lights, signals, trailer breaks comes from the truck.
the dim light on your break control could be a result of corrosion near your truck plug, or a bad ground. Recently, we replaced the plug on one of our trucks, then tested the break box, and the response was still poor. Sometimes, bolting the plug to your rusted truck frame is not a good enough ground, in some cases we must also run a ground wire from the plug to a firmer grounding point.
Most of our fleet needs a new truck plug after plowing. The salt just corrodes everything in sight.

Homer,
Your brake controller should have adjustments for braking power. Some have a separate slider for hard braking and one for soft. Also check to see if maybe you knocked it off level.
The battery on the trailer shoud only be for the brakes.
