doubt it, unless he is talking about an outfront model, as the j.d 997 only makes a 60'' unit.

Hustler however make a ZTR with 72'' rear discharge deck.

Lastec has a deck than can be made to rear discharge....

Toro make rear discharge decks for their outfront models...

well, we now know it is a Hustler.....typical of rear discharge, clippings despersal isn't great in heavy mowing, I've seen some very impressive pics of this deck, and some not so impressive ones, my demo had good and not so good results, but in saying that, at the time if they had a 60'' on the diesel model in my country at the time I would of bought it.

It did well on reg mowed grasses, in long grass it was a bush hog, and considering the speed and grass it was exceptable, as it was to be used for rough mowing/ light bush hogging anyway.

These are best suited for rough areas mowing where clipping despersal isn't that important, though many times it will be very neat, other times it won't, a 2nd higher pass is the trick to working the clippings in with these decks.

The Hustler is a good machine, it does what it was designed to do well.

I bought the rear discharge deere instead.....should of bought the Hustler!

If you do a lot of roadside mowing the rear discharge is the way to go. You wont have to worry about blowing grass in the road. I think the SD decks are a little neater when it comes to clipping dispersal.
