Is $4,900 out the door a good price on a Cub Tank M48? It is a demo unit with 24 hours on the clock and looks like brand new. I drove it around the other day and I really like the feel of the mower. The track on it is also wider than our 48" Lazer HP and it felt like it turned much better which would help stop from tearing lawns where you turn. I looked it over top to bottom and I am extreamly impressed with the unit. They made it so easy to maintain. Everything is right there in the wide open and easy to access. I also love love love love love love the fact that you can grease the spindles. The sealed units are a money making gimmick IMO because no matter how good the grease is it deteriorates from getting hot then cold then hot then cold over time. This leads to an inevitable failure when all the spindle needed in the first place was some nice fresh grease. We have had many sealed units go bad and none of the greaseable units have ever needed to be replaced.

So anyway it seems like a great deal to me. How about everybody else?

Is that a 2005, does'nt sound like too bad of price. I was pricing out a leftover M-60 with kohlor, dealer said 7000.00 out the door, but also said he could match that price with a 2006 model. He said the price of the 06's actually came down.
So if its a 05, get a price on a 06. :)

Sounds like a good price to me. What size engine dose that one have. I have the same unit with the 19hp Kaw. If you can bump that to the 23hp. Mine just seams a little under powered. my 2 cents.

I am pretty sure it was the 23 but its possible it was the 19. Our 48" lazer hp has an 18hp kohler and that has plenty of power and it now has over 2,000 hours on it. I would much rather have a Kohler but for this price it may be hard to pass up.

I hope the Encore serves you well. I will be honest here and tell you that our personal friend seels Encores and after looking it over I didnt like the build quality at all. Thats why I am looking else where. I hate to do that to him but I want the best product for my money and I feel the cub and other brands are higher quality.

Yeah... good price for the mower, in fact GREAT price IMHO.
That is cheaper than Lesco sells them and they are usually much cheaper.

If it has the 23hp on it, it will be one bad machine.
Take it from someone who knows first hand.....
You'll be sick with the Lazer HP after you buy this machine.

Now that might going a hair overboard. The Lazer HP is my baby. That machine is dead on reliable year in and year out. I would be extreamly happy if it was as good as the the lazer though!

If it is a m48 they only come w/ the 19 kaw or the 20 Honda, I have the 20 Honda. The 23 is on the next deck size I belive its 52 or 54

It's probably an '06.

The 23hp Kawi is the standard engine on the 48" now.
In fact, it's the only option I know of.
Good move in my opinion, especially if you want to mulch, bag or cut tough conditions.

Envy, how much does Lesco sell them for?

I think they increased the speed on the o6's also to 12mph. With 23HP on that 48" deck that should do some serious cutting with 12mph to boot, not a bad msrp on it either and 3 yr warranty.

They have been selling the 19hp 48" for $5,799 which is my opinon was a great price.

A price of $4,900 for the '06 23hp 48" is spectacular even if it is a demo.

Yeah, the advertised speed is up and I think they also went to the BDP12 pumps.

I think the rest with the taller tires already went close to 12mph anyways.
They just didn't advertise that.

I might have the BDP12's on mine. But I'm not sure.
But I certainly do not have the new hydro system.

This goes to show how much CC prices vary from area to area. Last fall my dealer wouldn't come off of $6400 for anything on a Honda powered M48. It had 3 hours on it, but if it had 25 hours and in good shape with warranty for $4900 I would have been all over it.

Good luck,
Doc
