Here it is the final, i have been in contact with 3 dealers within 100 miles of me about this Moritz LS 6.5x 20

I get the trailer

2- 6000 axles

tool box up front in the goose neck

spring assisted split gate

3280.00 +tax title

I have to drive 38miles to pick it up

they will have it in a week or so

I have been comtemplating the whole thing between 16, 18, or 20

I have outgrown the 12 i have now years ago

need a 16 but might as well go 18, the if 18 then why not 20

question I can save 140 bucks if I go 18, is 20 any harder to manuever than 18

I consider myself a step from expert with some footage behind me

thanks alot

We have a 7X16ft open trailer and we carry two ztrs, 2 21's, 2 trimmer, 1 edger, 2 backpack and a walkbehind blower. Our trailer has a foot or two left (we use for debris) once everything is loaded. Our next trailer will be an 18ft because it is nice to be able to haul extra equipment if needed, pine straw, mulch, plants, etc. When buying a trailer always buy bigger than you think you need.

I'd get the 20'....better have two extra feet for the $140 than kicking yourself later for not....as for getting it around,.I think you will be fine....in the tighter places I think width hurts more than length...and being a open trailer you can see a little better than if it was a 20' enclosed

Where on the site do you find axle at 12000 lb ? Also are they the BEST price dealer you could find?:waving:

Techniquely it is 2-6000# axles

due to some stupid PA law they rate them at 9950 I was told to keep the registration down or something to that effect

This is my closest dealer of 3

and best price by 300 bucks.

I dont like getting caught with my pants at my ankles so i am getting this asap

it takes 4-6 weeks to order if they are not already built i was told

Im ordering it monday, they have the one I want on the lot at Moritz

Its on 05, and metal went through the roof since

You will want to act fast, Im talking around a $500.00 diff for the same trailer in 06

The reason i asked is that if you vehicle can tow legally 9999lbs than legally you cannot go over that and 12000lbs might be overkill. Just curious cuz i have a Chevy 3500 SRW:waving:

sean,

i had 2 helper leafs on each side put in that chevy after market to beef up my rear suspension

I know Im gonna run illegal once and a while, the trick is just dont look like it

the spring guy said i added 2000lbs to the payload it was 400

I dont want to be scraping mud flaps if i dont have to

I called for a quote for a 20' with a side ramp and toolbox spare wheel and 9950 lb axles with green paint for $4000tax inc :waving:

I skipped the side gate and spare

I want to put a metal cage up front and the side gate goes all the way to the front, I think the cage will impede me get a 52 on or off

as the spare, my tire guy can get me a trailer rim and new tire for like 75

the green paint i think is extra

im paying 3280 +tax for the 9950 axles (really 12000 they told me but for reg reasons they say they are lighter)

black with tool box

I cant beat that price for what im getting

I want to put a rack up front as well but when i asked they said that the company did not do that. I wanted them to do move the ramp back one upright so i could do this 7' General Purpose Open Trailers
"Professional Model"
http://www.uscargo.com/uscargo/products/open/gpopen.asp
but for some reason they said it could not be done. I understand that if it goes over 10,000 lbs the trailer has to be titled like a vehicle. The paint is extra and in 1 month it went from $7 per lineal foot to $14  I saw a moritz trailer at a fair and i liked it alot the spring asst gates worked good, so good that you had to push the gate down with your foot to the ground. Something else i am concerned about is will the jack be in the way when you lower your tailgate? It seems awful close to the front.:waving:

Thats a sweet setup, I am going to get one of my buddies to weld that cage up, i think, I would love the side gate but another 200 is going to put me over the edge, the jack, not sure if it will hit the tailer
