i've got one with just over 54,000 miles on it and seem to be running into some nickel and dime stuff like starters, oil lines and stuff, anyone out there got this truck and have any problems w/ it? and how many miles you got and expect to get out of it.... theres no doubt, this is a great truck, i love it

I had one with near 500K on it when I traded it in for an 04. It ate brakes like a mo fo, occasionally something stupid would break, like a window actuator at about 210K, lost a tranny at 234K, and the motor was tired when I traded. Dollar for dollar the cheapest truck we had in the fleet.

if the 98 was brand new would it even compare to the 2500's nowa days? or even compare to the 98 fords or dodges back then?

There wasn't a '98 F-250. They skipped from '97 to '99 from the old body to the SD style.

They are just as good a truck as the new ones, You have an 8 year old truck, and after 8 years of working little things are gonna start to go on any truck.

54,000 isn't alot of miles, but considering the trucks the things your are replacing are somewhat normal. Once you get all that stuff done, your ready to go for 100k, than another 150k then 200K. You'll probably be doning a tranny at 150k, and a motor at 200k

But consdering the amount of mileage your putting on per year, that truck will be obsolete by the time you wear it out.

i just had to have the entire steering coulmn rebuilt in my low mileage 93 silverado.(under 100k) gm i their own worst enemy for using such cheap parts on their trucks which are an execellent desighn. i love everything about this truck except the low quality parts its made with.
