I don't know if this is legal here but I have a price list in my hands from a guy not too far from here that makes trailers. After reading some of the prices you guys are paying I thought it would be interesting to list them. Again, I need permission or you can just e-mail me and I'll fax you a copy. My Dad delivered some steel to this guy and said the trailers looked pretty good to him.

There are dealers 10 min. from me who charge what all these guys pay. If I drive 2 hours, I can get that same trailer $300 or more cheaper. Bought directly from the manufacture, only way to go, cut out the middle man. And it's the same kind trailers these guys are selling by me too.

I now have prices in e-mail form. Talked with they guy today on the phone, might be worth checking into. E-mail me with your address and I will send it to you.

Thanks Homer! Also were you just joking about the sweeper attachment for picking up leaves. I might try it.

Bought directly from the manufacture, only way to go, cut out the middle man.

Don't assume that. We have a local mfg near me that was $400 higher than the next highest guy for the same trailer. I see used 5x10s go for $700 and up because they're the most popular size here.

Homer,

my email is eslawns@altavista.com

Dan,

I was serious about the cheaper sweeper. For the money it sure beats raking. If you set the brushes low enough it will pick up cigarette butts, trash, rocks, anything it can pick up. I have mine on loan to one of my schools. They agreed to pick up the pine cones with it and save me the hassle.

tell me if this is a good deal..i think it is...i checked around town looking for a 16 foot tandem...wraped tounge and electric brakes ramps and built of the standard 3 inch angle iron..average cost 1300...preacher about 45 minute drive from me had the same trailer(built by same manufacturers) with used tires( have to sign waiver stating you bought the trailer with no tires basically cause of our state laws) 900 bucks..i took the drive and made the purchase..went to pep-dudes and got the 4 for a hundred special after 1 year use on the used tires

For those of you running car tires on your trailer. Car tires are not rated for trailer weights or use. If stopped could be a problem.

Trailer tires are softer and bounce better than car tires. You should be very careful!

I have been running them for almost 2 years and have had no bouncing problems. Also what peope are calling "trailer tires" are simply 6 ply or higher rated tires. If you want to move 10 yards of dirt or mulch then spend the bucks for a 10 ply. If you are hauling 2 mowers and a couple of weed wackers and a blower or 2 then there is no sense in putting a tire that cost 90 bucks each on the thing. They wear the same when pulling lite loads.

Those prices are high.........I have a large dealer here that sells trailers. He sells the Jerry James trailers made in Sikeston Missouri. I bought a 6.5X12 for $657.20 including tax and a 6.5X16 tandem without brakes for $790.34, brakes were one hundred more......For all of ya that are going to the expo in Lousiville, if you have time, stop by and pick one up.........There the cheapest place around. And he sells tons of them
