Have a customer that wants pavers put up next to their pond. Pond is surrounded by limestone rock, just laid on top, not mortared. What would be some good tips for doing a restraint next to the pond? I was thinking pull the rocks up around the pond and do a couple pavers underneath the edge of the liner. Then I would just use a plastic edge restraint and lay the limestone rocks right over the top.

i would suggest a small planting bed, if your base is 8inches deep then you need to go 8 inches out rule of thumb. you can talk to an engineer to see if you maybe could put in a concrete form to handel the load.

cleancut - Here is one we did (This ones for you Drafto). I like to keep a small buffer area and place some flagstone to stand on. I think it is pretty unsafe and impractical to have the water right on the patio edge. (although I think it looks great!)

that looks like the easiest way, just to leave a buffer zone.
