I like the truck.

We havent had snow, or any precipitation for that matter, in a LONG time. Like before Christmas. Had a couple bad praie fires Thurs. and Fri. because it has been so dry. I dont think there is any snow in the forecast for at least another week. Bummer.

yup CT was fun today, plowed for 11 straight hours, over 2 feet of snow. it wasnt too bad though because it was light fluffy snow, no heavy stuff. perfect storm to make some good money.

That will deffinatly be this weeks desktop background. Love chevys, love snow, and love snowmobiling the most (even though i only got to put on 191 miles so far ;) due to no snow)

Nice pics and video crew cut! I will be buying a plow this fall, hope to bring in some dough as well.

Hey cutright, I bet you made some nice money in that strom lol. How is the gmc doing? I have been looking at some new gmc to replace my truck with, and just wondering how you like it. What engine do yuo have in it, also what mpg are you getting with hauling you 18ft enclosed trailer? How does it hold up the plow? Do you have anymore pictures of the truck? Thanks.

whoa crew cut, how fast were you going in the video, looked way too fast but kinda hard to tell anyway, i plow town roads in a 03' f450 diesel duelly and only drive around 15-20 mph just to be safe, cause hitting a manhole cover even at 10 mph will wake you up in a heart beat, srry if the video made it look faster then you were just currious.

CrewCutEnterprises

Well I was going 15 to 20.

There are no manhole covers in the parking lot. I thought about it.

Lawn-Care-Innovations,

that truck has a 6.0L gas engine, 300 hp, 360 lb-ft torque. its got the GM 4 speed auto heavy duty transmission they call it.

not towing i get around 12 miles to the gallon, towing the 18 footer i think i get around 10 miles to the gallon. tows it just fine, dont really notice it back there besides the fact its 18 feet long. use tow/haul mode sometimes just to go easy on the transmission. suspension doesnt squat. I have a 10 ton gooseneck trailer i tow my excavator with, i probably shouldnt cause ill blow the truck up, but im getting a beater diesel dually as soon as possible to tow that.
all my next trucks will definatly be duramaxes with the allison transmission. but its definatly a great truck.
i ordered it with the plow prep package, beefs up the front suspension and all that. the truck sits a little lower in the front end naturally compared to fords, so i wish it would sit a little higher off the ground, but it definatly does the job.

ill post some more pictures too.

Our snow was really wet it rained for 10 hours then turned to snow at 9 pm.

Edit... hey, that was my 500th post.:)

i had 26 inches at my house, ranged from 18-24 in most areas. the snow was actually light and fluffy, it stayed cold enough so it was a great storm for plowing. didnt beat on the truck at all. and got to charge higher prices for deeper snow.

Thanks... It has an mbrp performance exhaust and afe stage 2 intake..

Its pretty load when under load.

How does everyones pricing work?? I know its different north.

125 per hr push
35 shovel or snowblow
30 bag salt. including salt.

I was unsure, but i stuck to my guns and it worked out.

These were my prices for this year and i bid 2 accounts and got both. Made 3000.00 in 2 storms. paid 2000 for plow, so i made 1000.00 This is my first year plowing so im happy.

Thanks cut right, Man them G M C's are sweet. Is there much difference in the 2500hd and the 350 srw? I went and looked at one today, 2006 3500hd reg cab fully loaded with western v plow and a salt spreader for around 30,000.

i dont know anything about fords. only thing i do know is that the only difference between a f250 and an f350 most times is just a bigger suspension. at least thats what iv heard, i come from a long line of GM owners and all our friends that are mechanics only work on GMs so im very biased and dont know much about anything else. although a truck im looking at to buy is a ford dually diesel flat bed for towing my excavator and ill prolly put a plow on it.

that seems like a good price for the 2006 gmc 3500hd with the plow and spreader, but im guessing its gas. the duramax/allison package will prolly run you another $7000 or so.

Yea it's a gasser, 6.0l. If I were to buy a diesel I would have to keep it for a while 10 or so years to get the money back out of the diesel plus diesel is to much around here still, But it's still and option though. I think I should be good if I go with the 6.0 or the 8.1. I might move up to the 8.1L don't know. What are you guys with the 8.1 L getting fuel millage wise?

Man, I know exactly what you guys mean, the weather in Texas is pretty nasty. We got about 1/4 inch of ice! Shut down highways, closed churches. Now THAT...is some serious winter weather!

If your pricing by the hour, the max you'll ever make is that hourly rate. Price by the inch, storm or season and your hourly rates can go sky high. Salting is where the money is.

Here in CT in like New haven County area i guess it is.. We got bascially 26" of the lightest snow ive ever pushed. I have a 2000 chevy 2500 with a fisher.. i dont even remember having to really push it. Back blading that **** was like nothing... Cept for fact you were backblading something that was liek at the hieght of ur hood. lol.. good stuff. yea.. i put i think it was 2600 in the account and i did a good ammount of freebees too just to be a nice neighbor.. :weightlifter: it was all good. my 6.0L around town gets like 15mpg.. i drive pretty light footed.. but the speedlimit.. on highway longer trips i get up to almost 20mpg.. my buds got a 98 ford F350.. 7.3L and hes getting around the same.. so for diesel costing more.. i think i like gas better.. less maitince.. no pain in the cold.. plus.. the ****** lockin hubs look like a pain in the ass when you gotta stick ur hand 2 feet into the snow. lmao... ohh well im not gonna start a war..
Have fun all you plow people if we get any more snow, but until then...
