hey all. i could use some advice on something. i got this one guy (dentist) who owes me like 130 dollars from back last july. he wont pay me the money even after i fulfilled some additional work that was in a contract that said he had to pay me. so i think what i am gonna do is drop some debris on his property. the reason i say its good to be a scrub is because i do not keep my phone number or anything on the sides of my trucks. so i mean if i do this the guy can still pull into his driveway and all. but right now i am having problems getting rid of debris. such as thatch and sticks and what not. a place about an hour from here gets 10 dollars a yard. a place by me gets 500 - 1000 a year. so what do i do? i want to drop at least 2 or 3 dump truck loads on this guys property. several people have told me now that the guy doesnt like paying his bills.- thanx

Non-payers are so freakin irritating. These people actually think that they don't have to pay for your time and labor. I'll never understand that. We get at least one person a year that does this to us. Now I know a lot of members are going to say "don't dump stuff on his property, it's unprofessional", I say "screw it" he's got to pay some how. I've done the court thing 4 times and have got my money 3 of those times. The guy that didn't pay got his whole driveway piled with snow in the winter at about 2:00 a.m. There is no way he made it to work the next day. How dare he waste my time and money.

Go in and get your teeth cleaned and examined, then tell you'll take off his bill.

Do it but make sure you don't get caught. Have a friend go to his office and make sure he doesn't leave, if he does have the friend call you before the Dentist gets home. I'd hate for you to get in trouble cause he didn't pay his bill.

the fact of the matter is that you have a contract, sue him for the ammount of money he owes you, take him to court and tell the judge you have held up your end of it but he hasn't it. court will cost you around $50 for small claims. and you'll get that money back after you win. because you have a contract. use your head, most likey after he gets the letter in the mail he'll pay so he doesn't look like an as shole. good luck

Do you honestly want this guy cleaning your teeth? Just go to court and then if that don't work, dump the shi# in his driveway.

Tell him you are giving him one last chance to pay you. And tell him if he doesn't pay that bill, that you have a friend in the trash collection business and sometimes you run his route for him (or whatever) and that that truck is going to dump a nice smelly load on his lawn if you don't get your check and also tell him you can best believe it will take you 90 days to get it cleaned up. Give him a date to get you squared away or else.

Type up a newspaper add reflecting his unpaid bill and mail it to him, advising that it will be put it the newspaper if not paid by a cetain date.

Have you been really acertive? Send him a overdue statement showing the total due along with a nice letter stating that a late fee of 2% or whatever your state will allow has been added to the bill. After a few days call and ask if he has recieved the bill? Maybe he is having money problems? Offer to take payments if this will help himout, but, remind him that the late percentage will continue to be added every thirty days.

If still no pay, stop by his office and request that he settle up. If he does not pay in person at this visit, then file a lien on the property and file a claim in small claims court.

Whatever you do, do not DUMP stuff in his drive or yard! Do not lose your composure while taking to him on the phone or in person. Be as calm as possible! If you act irrate, and dump stuff etc,... you will look like a idiot when they bring all this up at YOUR trail when you were arrested for dumping stuff in his yard! Keep everything on your side, you do not want this to turn around on you by doing something malicious just for the sake of a few bucks, when you can get it, plus more, by just staying calm and staying on a true course of collection.

Good Luck!

Scrub or no scrub I'd go into this fools office and ask to speak to the theif himself. When there are customers and employees around he will want to keep you quiet. Just talk loud when explaining to the receptionist that he is past due and how much he owes you! I bet the doctor will see you now!

You let way too much time elapse. You have to get on slow payers like bee's on honey pronto.
Small claims court is a pain in the arse, then you still have to collect after the judgement. If it makes you feel better dumping on his property so be it, but I would spend the time showing up at his residence at night and on weekends until he knows you are going to be a nuisence that will not go away. Once he understands that you are going to be an ongoing thorn in his side until he pays , he will pay.

My bills go out soon as job is done. Terms are net 10 days. If it isn,t paid in 30 a friendly reminder with 2% tacked on. Then next 30 days a not as friendly but professional reminder with another 2%. In 2 weeks a friendly phone call. 1 more week a phone call. next very firm reminder with another 2% some more calls and then small claims or a collection agencey. So far never had one go past 90 days. Be proffesional. You get a better chance at your money.

Once a guy made me really mad. I was trying to figure out a way to get him back- have a tandem load of horse crap delivered and pay the company in cash so no names are involved and have a friend schedule and pay for the delivery. I never did this but thought about it alot. This was before i was in the biz. I did on several occations throw chicken livers into the back of his ac. window unit lol i know that smelled. This is not the proper way to handle this matter but would be funny.

Call the dental office and ask for him, if hes busy leave a detailed message with his secretary, that your calling about a very past due bill, then have a relative make an apt with him and not show up, then fill his driveway. Im not a lawyer, but its a civil matter, not a criminal one, as long as the police dont show up while your doing it anyway. You may try having wife or girlfriend call and try to get the money, thats what i do, if i call it becomes a swearing match and i win, but dont get the money.

You guys are getting carried away with this situation. Do some investagating at the deed office to find out what he owns for properties and put a lien on all of them. You will get paid when he goes to sell.

In my state you can't put a lien on a property for services. Not sure if that is common or not.
