Lease or Buy?
Jamesgateslandscaping

Bought it, easier to buy the dump instead of lease, it was only like $100 more/month to buy it.

well the difference in the transmissions that i can tell from driving the different trucks is that the allison actually downshifts and works with the duramax as an engine break to slow down the truck when towing heavy loads. the way i explain probably isnt really how it works but thats what i notice when towing heavy loads with a duramax/allison combo.
allison transmissions are used in everything from tractor trailer trucks to tanks, so theyre supposed to be some heavy duty transmissions.
I have the same 4 speed heavy duty transmission on my 2500HD, thats basically GM's heavy duty transmission they sell. doesnt really downshift and work with the engine when towing, but it still does the trick.

Thanks Erik!
Thanks CutRight for explaining...Wasnt really thinking tonite, wicked tired, got up at 530am to go get certified to install allan block...;) . The allison will automatically downshift when the tow/haul is on and the brake is applied, a really nice feature but just did not feel the need to do diesel or 8.1, My HD has plenty of power with the 6.0.

yea my 2500HD 6.0L gas and the 4 speed heavy duty auto has plenty of power also too, love the truck. im just starting to get into some heavier equipment and loads so im going to need the extra power going and stopping.

Good looking truck! I have a question if you don't mind me asking I'm looking at one just about like that one. About what did you pay for it? I'm still not sure if I want to spend the money yet. Thanks

Nice man, You got one sweet fleet. I'm hope to make enough money to buy a new truck G M C 3500 pick-up and lease another 3500 dump for 2007 season. Keep us up dated? What plow are you going put on the truck? X blade? Do you have a clear pictures of how much fisher has to cut out on you bumper?

Leasing was just not that impressive for the dump, for another $100/month, I own the truck. I plan on leasing a 2500HD or 3500PU at the end of the season to replace the 1/2ton. Rumor has it that fisher is coming out with a V XBlade, if they do, I will be first in line to buy:) . I only cut below the front hooks, nothing to major. I will post pics with the body on when I take delivery.

Can you post a picture on the 2500hd front bumper? I know on western on what I have seen you don't have to cut. So I may run a western vee plow on the pick-up and then the x blade on the dump for next season.

My lease on what I have checked out was 200 a month for 48 months for the dump truck and then on the pick-up it was 428.00 a month to buy it. I don't know i may buy the dump.

My lease numbers were anywhere from $400-600, buying $500-600 and I have almost perfect credit. http://www.lawnsite.com/showthread.php?t=123147 I have somewhat of a pic with it cut, Ill try to take some at some point.

Thanks james, How much did the dump body run you? The pictures weren't that clear on seeing the plow mount. I would but the dump if I weren't getting the duramax, I don't know much bout diesel on the gas truck I'm buying though.
