I have used both as well as many others over the years. All I am willing to say is... I have been using Anderson's for the past two years. For the past two years, my lawns are healthier than they have ever been. Part of this can be attributed to some changes I made in the analysis. I really like the smaller prill size of the Anderson's products as well as the flexibility in analysis.

depends if you want a spreader that throw's most of it's product to one side or not? if want that then get the lesco, if you want a spreader that has an equal throw to each side, throws product further (wide swath) and one that you dont have to throw back to your tracks with, then get the anderson. i have many of MILLIONS of square feet on mine (andersons SR2000) and it has yet to fail. i will say that i use my old lesco for spreading salt on walk ways, seems to have just enough to make it to each side with out getting it in the grass.

Geez... I feel silly. I re-read the post and realize you were talking about the spreader. My response was based on the fertilizer.

I have never used anything other than the LESCO spreader. Therefore, I have no opinion.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of these spreaders. Both are top notch and will last you years. I have personally not used the Andersons spreader but have heard alot of good things about it. Alot of people like to flame the Lesco spreader for it's throw pattern, but all I've ever done is close the 3rd hole 1 notch and never any striping or bad results. ALOT of people have used both these spreaders for many years and they are both industry standards.

anderson's sr2000, got 2 years with mine. And another company with 27 applicators just switched over from lesco to the andersons. Saves me time with the extra material spread width.

i feel that it's just like the american car companies.. a change cant be made.. foulks.. this is our problem, afraide to change. just because the POS that your using works, doesn't mean it's the best! if you do a search it is said that the only way to get a lesco to spread the correct way is to cover the said property in a counter clockways pattern?? screew that by a spreader that does it the right way the first time!!

The Anderson is a much better spreader than the Lesco, in fact it is the best on the market. Will spread any (ANY) product evenly and it doesn't have a cockeyed spread pattern.

Thanks for all the input. I went and bought an andersons yesterday. I have always used them on the golf courses I've worked at.
They are awesome.

i know you did not ask about this one, but we are trying a spyker spreader.
we have been using the same lesco for about 15 years.

i will be using the spyker next week. hope it works.

I have tried a spyker spreader and did not like them very much. They are built strong and are very user friendly but the last 5-8 lbs of material would not sling out of the hopper unless you shook the whole spreader. We tried 3 or 4 different materials and this happened on all of them. Just my 2 cents.

I've had a Lesco push spreader for 3 years and nothing really impressed me about it. I didn't care for the pattern, been in the middle of jobs and had pins sheer off that hold the spreader disk in place. Easy repair, but a real pita since I didn't have a screw on the truck to fix it. Then had the agitator break twice. The first time it broke was the first time I used the spreader.

Last year I got tired of dealing with it. I went out and bought an Earthway hand crank/chest spreader. Talk about a real time saver. I don't think I have a use for my Lesco unless I want to mount it to the front of the Scag TT.
