That is a real nice calculator. I wish it included length and width in feet along with that depth of the area you wish to cover. And a radius one too! Just 1-5 inches in depth.
Can anybody help make one like that?

L x W x ( inches thick you want / 12 ) /27 = yards of mulch needed
i think thats what you want?

Well your equation is for 1 inch of material.
A better calculation would be length X width X depth (with the constant of 1 foot equaling 1).
For instance, you want to spread mulch over an area 100' X 50' X 4" deep.
The numbers would look like 100 X 50 X .3 = total cyds needed.

mine? no its for how ever many inches you want you put in the inches and divide by 12 so its in terms of a foot so you have the cubic footage of the area, than divide by 27 to get yards

This thread is going to confuse someone so I'll chime in:
Area (sq ft.) x .16 (2 in. depth) / 27 = cu. yds.

1 yard of mulch will cover about 100 sq ft with 2-3 " in depth . the reason i say 2-3 is you might need more mulch in one area than another.
