Registering Business

I am finally turning my "kid" business into a "real" business this Spring. My wife finally graduated from college and has a good, stable, government job, so I figure there is no better time then now to "take the risk." I was wondering if anyone else has registered their business as an S-Corporation. My wife's friend from her MBA class said that it is better than a partnership (I own the company with my brother) and an LLC becasue it has the least amount of risk. I already got my EIN number through the IRS today and I'm using this website (http://www.odod.state.oh.us/onestop/index.cfm) to find the forms to fill out.

Please let me know what type of company you are registered as. Thanks!

I'm registered as an LLC in Iowa. CPA sees no advantage to becoming incorporated until you reach a level of revenue that will be more to your advantage. Based on discussions with my CPA we will hold off this year and possibly next on becoming incorporated.
