I am 17 and I'm hiring my friend to help me out in the summer. I am going to pay him $10 an hour. What things do i need to know... taxes, liabilities, ext.
Thanks,
Dave

$10 seems awfully high to hire someone at, escpecially someone who im guessing has little or no experience. You could get by with $8/hr. Id advise not to hire a friend, especially if it is one that you are close with or hang out with alot. Itll be hard for you to treat it like a business then, and he may try taking advantage of the fact your friends. As for taxes, unless they make over $600? you dont have to pay taxes on it. I doubt since your 17 you could even file for an EIN anyways.
Never mix friends and business.
