Is anybody doing any different advertising this year.
I was thinking of setting up a table at a local dept. store. The table will have a nice banner made and we will be taking donations for a local charity. All proceeds will go to the charity and we will be handing out some really nice flyer's and general shmoosing with the public. I figure it's not snowing at all and it's far too early to begin spring clean ups so it can't hurt.:)

Got an Idea for your advertising. If you run double blades your essentially cutting the grass twice with each pass.
So try something along the lines of
Have your lawn cut twice for the price of once or
Two lawn mowings for the price of one
when your talking to them explain how double blades IS cutting it twice and that the smaller the clippings the faster they break down in to beneficial mulch. ETC. ETC.
It should help generate calls the rest is in the sales

I always come up for ways to get clients but I don't need clients I need employees. Anyway maybe someone else could use this. At our local movie theaters if you get there early they have slides advertising stuff, but usually the pictures are not much to look at. So I thought a great L/s picture in a theater in the target neighborhood in the right movies may generate some calls. I know that no other L/S are doing it, and you have a captive audience. Also the people who get there early most likely are organized, being organized and on time often translates to a successful lifestyle and some $$$. Of course I am making some logical assumptions here.

Remember back in school when you would tap someone on the back with a kick me sign ? I found that going to the local mall and finding the old timers(mall walkers) taping them on the back to say hello and leaving my taped flyer on there back :walking:

I'm not sure how much of a marketing idea this is as much as just something fun to do, but this year I'm having Frisbees made up and as we are out mowing and see homes that look like they have kids or see kids out playing to leave a couple of Frisbees with them.
I'm not expecting it to drum up much work if any but just thought it would be neat to see kids throwing around Frisbees with our logo on them.

Thats not to bad of an idea. It would probably go over well with the parents and could work out well if the kids take them to the park or something.

Keep the ideas flowing

1 more flyer idea

Would you trade $2,500 for $20,000 ?????

A full yrs service of lawn and landscaping can cost as little as $2,500 but WILL increase the value of your home by as much as $20,000

Mac, do you run different flyers like this each year?

Or just ideas that pop up each day?

If I run flyers they are usually differnt from yr to yr. The ones I posted I've never done.

People are the same everywhere you go, They want something FREE or as close to it as they can get. The 1st post works off the idea of free. the second is like enticeing a person to play the lotto, spend a buck on the chance of receiveing more in return. I always like to notice what people will waste money on and incorperate that in advertizing. Gambling is #1 then you can use alcohal IE enjoy a cold one while we do the sweating for you.
and the last is a clients free time. You need to point out how its cheaper to hire you than spend the time doing it himself. IE Why get only a 1/2 day on the boat because you were stuck with the yard work??
Make them think that your doing them a favor rather than having them think your doing a job
