Mowed weeds in my side yard the other day think I was just seeing if I still remembered how to mow then I got a phone call last night a customer from last season that I would only get to mow when he was out of town or his mower broke down he wanted to know what I would charge for a bi montly mow only so I did some figuring and called him back and told him and he said great so I have at least one for this season
Then today the maintaince super of the local school district asked me what the rate was going to be this year I told him that unless fuel went sky high it would be the same as last year he told me that I could start mowing anytime I wanted to so it is starting off good a good season and this year I get all 5 campuses of the school district .

I only wish we were mowing. Just like all the other northern climates we have not much but a little snow , and the ground is as hard as a rock!

Won't be mowing for at least another month and a half or two months. Everything is totally frozen, it's 25* F today. I'm hoping to start cleanups by the middle or late March. For now...LET IT SNOW, though it is looking like winter may be over for us in Northern, NJ.:walking:

Here in virginia, spring usually hits in earnest around April 1st...

Now it's almost March so I have to get busy with maintenance and a couple leaf jobs never got done lol, but other than that it's pretty quiet.

Bi weekly all winter even when there is nothing to cut people want me to run my mower over their lawn. I skipped one lady because there wasnt anything to cut and she was really mad at me that I didnt run my mower. I know some guys here that dont even turn the blades .

Already started Mulch.

Haven't stopped mowing, couldn't even do biweekly this January. Winter was too mild. I was able to skip a few here and there but still showed up weekly to fire up the blower make some noise and bill for full service, wish I could have done this more often. Hope to be done with lawn preemergent this week, which should have been finished 2 weeks ago. California weather, ain't it great?

I want to start mowing too. I am just a homeowner.

It's 70F today, and I've seen 3 crews out. One was mowing, and two others were driving fully loaded as if on the way to a job.

If I mow now, and it frosts, will my grass die?

Probably 3 more weeks. The ground didn't freeze this year like normal. We have had plenty of moisture and the grass looked green right after this last snow melted. Wonder what that will do for the quality of bluegrass, fescue, rye mix. Those are the predominate grasses around here.
I am looking at and bidding a large bush hogging job and a private road graveling job.
