On page C4 of February's Turf South magazine, there is a product shown from Prima Ventures called "SharperBlade". They are supposed to be "self-sharpening" and non-sparking mower blades. Anybody heard of them and if they're worth a flip?

I've heard of them but never seen or tried them. I've gotta say that I have my doubts if they really work. One blade that I know works well in sandy soil is the "Fusion Blades" by Oregon. I ran one set from June 05 till Dec 05 on my 52" Hustler Super Z and only sharpened them 4 times! I do over 60 lawns per week so I know it's hard to believe but true. The best part was that the cutting edge was still good and the only reason I retired the blades was because the lifts were getting thinned out. They're all I run anymore.

I bought a set, but returned them and planted "self mowing" grass instead.
