pasture / forest ground prep ?

What would be a quick and pretty way to prep field soil for reseeding? (after brush clearing, sorry - can't afford a Fecon or Timber ax)

I do lots of steep inclines so roto-till is not desired, but I would like to mulch up the debris and leave a reasonable (and quick) surface for seed. I sometimes tow around a tandem disk and harrow, but a bit tough to transport, and I don't like the numerous trips (conserving track (roller) wear)

The way I have done it is to rent a large ag tractor with a heavy offset disk, I disk the hell out of it then run a landscape rake over it. The key is to use a heavy offset disk. They do a great job and get good penetration if you use a conventional disk, you will not get the ground penetration you need to turn the soil over. I try to get at least a 200 hp MFD Magnum with an 18' disk.
