Question for the pros!

I am looking at buying a zero turn mower and I live on 2.5 acres. My question is I happened to be in home depot and saw a cub cadet zeroturn mower for 2,999. What caught my eye was that it had a 22hp Kawasaki OHV engine on it. The model number is FH661V. I looked everywhere on Kawasaki's website and yahoo search and don't see that model anywhere. Does anyone know why this might be? I know Kawasaki makes a top of the line motor, that is what has me interested in this product, but I don't want to buy a cheaper version.

Since its not going to be used commercialy than I would say the Kawasaki would suit your needs.

However, do you have a REAL Cub Cadet dealer in your area??

Home Depot is not going to service that mower for you.

Also, are you sure you wrote that engine model down correct?? I couldn't find it anywhere either.

very light weight construction. even for home use it seems over priced.

I tell all the people that ask me about ZTR's to spend the extra money and buy a Lazer HP model. It cost less then the regular Lazer and it will last you a life time. Also I heard that mowers sold at Lowes and Home Depot are made special for them. That are not as good as quality as a model from a Cub Cadet dealer. Don't just look at the price!

I've been shopping REALY HARD (no puns please) lately and you can get a truly commercial Hustler Mini Fastrack for about 1k or less... more than what your looking to spend already. They have a lifetime warranty on the frame and two to three on everything else. If nothing else at least read up on them.

Just food for thought. I know this can be a brain racking process as I've been gong through it for about the last month and a half or so. Man, what a learning curve!

KLSU----ditto to this. go to the hustler forum and search for hustler mini fasttrak. i started right where you have started. then i looked at the husqvarna's at lowes, then at snapper residential units, then to ariens and dixon, swisher at sam's club, ztr's at sears, country clipper, dixie chopper, exmark, toro, etc....... you name it, i looked at it. several were nice machines, but were considerably more expensive.
then one sunday i drove by a dealer and saw these yellow mowers. i went back on monday and talked with the dealer. i went home and read-up on Hustler. Tuesday i called several dealers for prices. friday i purchased. it was love at first sight. when all things were considered: warranty, construction, engine choice, build detail, factory support, cost...it didn't take long to decide on a Hustler. in the homeowner line nothing equals Hustler's combination of value, performance, function, price and quality.
