Thinking of throwing my hat in the ring. I'm in Ohio. I'm thinking of creating a branch for landscape lighting from my primary landscape business. Will I starve?

EDIT:: never mind your 14 dont go playing with electricity yet. Stick to cutting grass and LEARN LEARN LEARN. I cant see at your age anyone handing you 3000 bucks for a lighting system.
No you wont starve because mom and dad will feed you. Relax and enjoy your youth while you still got it. I dont think at this point/age you should do lighting. Read books on design and installation and then when your a bit older you will know your stuff good.
I dont mean to put you down but I cant imagine your ready. And when you define "creating a branch" I didnt know you could register and insure at 14. Doing proffesional lighting is NOT like mowing the nieghborhood lawns.

Man I need more coffee lol 14 years in business lol... im so sorry I stand corrected.
Here is my plan. We registered a new business name... new logo and going to get a new website and all and market as lighting specialists. We will not be showing up to give presentations in our landscape truck. We will sub out design work until we are great at it. We plan to wear dockers and polos when we meet with clients for consultation(not estimates or quotes) as it looks highly proffesional. I wouldnt be caught dead showing up at a 750k home all dirty and sweaty from working to sell them a high dollar lighting system unless my name was like gold.
We will still do landscaping but as we get busy with lighting we will phase out the heavy landscaping and just maintain a few accts (churches and 2 residences). There is a huge rat race here for landscaping and mowing. When you get underbid by 50% its a problem when you were already CHEAP.
Eventually we would like to do 1 to 2 high end installs a week and do service 2 days a week. Service contracts are where the long term money is.
My partner will eventually buy out the current company and we will do a refferal exchange with eachother. As long as you have a profitable business to operate now I dont think you could lose offering lighting either under your name now or under a new name.
Sorry again fro the previous post Im more awake now. I just saw KID in your name and glanced and it said 14. Glasses and coffee do wonders for your sight lol
