How many hours can a batwing mower have and still be a decent mower?

I was just wondering how hours a bat wing mower can have with a diesel engine etc. 11 foot cutting range. and still be good and productive. Thanks I could buy one with 4000 hours on it, but I would have to get a big piece of junk.

IMO, for any practical purpose, as in weekly, if not every day use, it's pretty much run it's life, unless you have a full time mechanic.

Look for one that's newer.

Last fall I found a 2001 Toro 4100 on the internet with 313 hours on it, paid $14k for it.

Keep your eyes open.

That one with 4000 hours on it, it may be cheap, but it's going to be headaches up the wazoo....
