Anything is better than the peltors. My peltors suck big time. They block out very little noise, the radio station wont stay put and the ear cups fall off all the time. The set of Elvex I had blocked out 2X as much noise and the radio never changed stations on me and the ear cups never fell off. This set that he gave the link to looks much better made than the peltors do and look like it has alot more insulation to deaden the sound better.

Ok guys. This is the stuff for you right here. Shure makes a set of headphones that BLOCK outside sound. you have to hook them up to a player but they don't make ya sweat. They are pricy, $100 bucks. I got mine at best buy, and love em. I decided to not use them as I couldn't hear anything else while using them. Shure also makes a telephone headset using the same technology. Now, I can actually hear my phone ring, and even talk on it while on the mower. They are well worth the price. The telephone headset was 39 bucks. I can personally vouch for those shure products. Go online and see, or go to your local Best Buy or Circuit City.
I bought peltors and put them on once, and they are sitting in the box. I will not use them.
P.S.
These headphones go IN your ear, not over it.

My Peltor Racetunes work great. You can listen to
the am/fm radio or use the supplied cable to attach
a mp3 player. They are sorta hot though.

I could have not said it better the peltors work ok if you righht next door to the radio station mine they jump off channel all the time and forget fine tuning ain't no way got them at home depot for I think 35.00 or 40.00 dollars way to much fro the quality of the product.

Read the thread before go out and and get a set of peltors. Trust me when I tell you they are junk compared to other brands (Elvex in particular). Take it from somebody that has used both an Elvex headset and the peltor headset. The extra money it cost for the Elvex is WELL worth it. :headphones:

I use a pair of headphones from Bestbuy. $18 I think. they go in your ear so they are not hot at all and the pads are made like the ear pluggs that you roll up and push in your ear. they sound great and block about the same noise as my pelotors. Plus I can wear my full brim hat with these! they are made by KOSS.

Lee, Northern Tool and Equipment has them.
Worktunes run on sale for around $50.00
Racetunes, I have not seen on sale and they are $70.00
With all the stations we have here it is no problem.

You can find the good Peltors on ebay for about half price. They will be new in the box . There is a big difference in the ones from like walmart, TSC,etc. I bought mine from a tractor dealer here in town and I think they were $80. Same thing on ebay for 49.00:cool2:
