Does anyone have experience/recomendations with et based "smart" controllers?

No but I'm anxious to try Hunter's new ET system this year. I was almost ready to go with Toro Intellisense before Hunter announced theirs.

We have had good luck with ET timers so far. Correct me if I am wrong but the weathermatic smartline uses historical data..

Can you tell me any more. What is the model number. Is it a service or historical data supplied.

It works with all SmartPort controllers. It's an actual weather station. Here's the link:http://www.hunterindustries.com/Products/Sensors/etintro.html

The Weathermatic Smartline controller is modular and uses a very affordable weatherstation.
