After buying my redmax bp blower last fall, im really impressed with the redmax brand. Im looking to buy a rm string trimmmer this spring, anyone have any idea which model is the better one, and any advice, or knowledge of these would be appreciated. I am assuming that they are good trimmers, but if anyone thinks they are junk let me know, and why.

Thanks

I bought the redmax BCZ2400S 2 years ago. It only has 23cc engine on it. I love the spool head I mean the biggest idiot can load that spool without it tangling... I like the fact that the bump head has a metal center, we rotate through a few of them and cutting 50 lawns per week maybe one of them is more than 50% worn...
for regular cutting the 23cc engine has plenty of power and it is very lite and runs very smooth...
I think we are going to get the next model up this year which is a 25 cc so we can have a little more power for some minor brush cutting that we do throughout the season. Redmax Trimmers and blowers get a two thumbs up way up rating from us!

Either the 2400 or the 2600 are real nice...we have like 3 of each and like them a lot.

Yeah, I have had my Red Max BCZ2600S (26cc) trimmer since '03 and I LOVE it! Red Max is the best of the best for 2 cycle equipment!

We use the 2400's and love the fact how light they are. They have plenty of power for normal trimming unless you are doing brush clearing. Heavy trimmers can really make for a long day on large properties

Thanks for the input guy's, i appreciate it. I am solo so i too am figuring on buying the lighter version as the heavier trimmers wear me out faster. I still cant get over how much power that red max 8000 bp blower has. Which reminds me to ask another question. I really dont want to use the 8000 for everyday mow blow and go(just for leaf cleanup) cause its realy heavy, so what would be a good size bp for everyday use?

For everyday use, thats easy: the Redmax 7001.

I am a Redmax dealer. Go with the 2400 trimmer for everyday use.. It is lighter and has plenty of power. now, if you want to go out and clear creek channels full of Catails all day long, the 2600 would be the way to go.

I AGREE COMPLETELY!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Red Max trimmer is the only brand which has ever lasted me more than two seasons without ANY repairs. can't vouch for the bump head, I removed mine the day I bought it and replaced it with a 3 string quick-load type.
