I think a bird got it and dropped cuz the snake was barely moving.

Snakes are necessary reptiles and have a good reason for existing..to indiscriminately kill a snake..any snake because you hate them is selfish,cruel unneccesary and a big waste..I hate to hear of people who do that.If you leave a snake alone and don't hurt it or torture it or corner it and give it an escape route..it will leave you in peace if you give it the same courtesy.

I was curious about that one not too familiar with western snakes.

Down here they are all over the place, so you get used to them.

I think in order for it to be a Rattler it must have tail with rattlers at the end of it. I cant see any at all on this snake but I could just be looking at it wrong. my 2 cents

You're right...I think it might be a cotton headed rattle moccasin though.

I know snakes have a reason for being. With that said...I kill ANY snake that comes close to me. I sleep FINE at night knowing I did that.

I agree with that Sheshovel. I too have no problem with snakes. I've never had one as a pet for long term, but I've captured many and kept them for a few minutes/hours. I've caught with my hands, mocassins, hog nose, green snake, black snakes, water snakes( they're little meanies) and some I didn't know. These days I won't touch a poisonous snake anymore, but still mess with the non-venemous ones. I hardly ever kill a snake and only when I have too.

As far as SFL's snake I'm not sure. It looks too thin to be a rattler, plus I don't see a rattle( not real familiar with rattlers though) and can
't see it's head so..............

You're not the only one. I have always been afraid of them. Heres' a true story: I was mowing my lawn in 1st or 2nd gear on my Exmark WB w/ velke I was being chased by a 3.5 foot long Copperhead. Yall wanna know what happened next?

I have one job where i weed flower beds and there is this grass snake that keeps coming up to me.Well one day i was out there and the thing went up my back and stoped at my sholder.It was cool.i grabed a gass hopper that i grabed and the thing took it from my hand and ate the *****.thats my buddy.he or she saves me from having to have the yard sprayed.I have always liked grass snakes.my buddys copper head is cool.i had him on my sholder and this guy tryed to grab me and old copper bit his ass.i have never seen a guy run so fast before.I have a guard wolf and a guard snake.sango is the wolf and she is outside and jake is a 3 foot long grass snake.he can get real nasty.
