renovating a yard.

I have a potential client that has a crappy yard. All sorts of weeds, dead grass and dead weeds, and some patchy grass here and there. She would like it nice and green obviously. What would you guys recommend? Also, could you list some product names?

Theres alot of varibles with questions like this?
whats the budget?
what size lawn?
how soon do they want turf?

If its an average size surburb lawn and the budget permits then I would do:
1. Evaluate the soil's physical characteristics
2. Evaluate the soils nutrients
3. Kill everything w/ nonselectice herbicide
4. Till it up and add the nurtients u need.
5. Grade it.
6. Sod it.
7. Water, Water, Water.
8. Collect $$$
