estimated square feet of a property can take time . i seed in ben meadows catalog a range finder type of a unit that will give you width and length of a known area.
any of you guys ever use one?l

Very interesting. If it works like it should, it could definitely save some time, but I am sure the terrain would have to be flat.

I have a Bushnell Trophy Laser Range finder that i use for hunting but have never used it for measuring a property. DO NOT waste your $$$ on one of the smaller "dial" range finders though. The thing about the range finders is that you need a target to measure against and I would think it would be hard to pick out the corner of each property without a positive landmark. If all properties had permanent markers at all corners they would be golden. I think I will toss mine in the truck just to see any way. A wheel only takes a few minutes and you know it is right.
