I need help adjusting 2 dixie chopper decks. 1 is a 72" and the other is a 60" the 72" cuts pretty good but the 60 i am pretty sure needs the deck adjusted. How do i go about doing this or is it something i should take to the dealer. Is there any tricks you guys use or is it just common sense. On the 60" when you make a pass and turn around to make the other pass it does not cut even to match up with the other cut. Any and all help is appeciated. Thanks Mike

The Dixie Chopper deck is pretty simple to adjust.

There are 4 chains with bolts that have locking nuts which suspend the deck from the mower. 2 in the front and 2 in the back.

Measure the height of the blade tips on both mowers from the tip to the ground when the decks are at your normal mowing height. The blades must be pointed forward to do this.

Differences of a 1/4" or less are not usually noticable. Now using your measurements figure which side of the deck needs to go up or down to achieve a height similar with the other blades. Go to that side of the deck and loosen the jam nut on both the front and rear chain and then using the other nut raise or lower that side of the deck to get the proper height. Make sure if you turn the front nut 3 turns that you also turn the rear nut 3 turns. Failure to do so will cause the deck to teter on the chains. Now tighten the jam nuts and check your measurements again. If you achieve good results leave the deck as it is.
