Complaints about vibrations when sharpening. Installed new wheel and made al necessary adjustment to machine. Grinding wheel does not wear evenly. Can you advise what to do?

Hello,

In our experience out-of-balance conditions come from 2 things (concerning our sharpeners)

1. Wheel bond inconsistancy - while this is rare, it can be a cause.

2. Chattering when grinding. If the blade is not held flat to the work table, or allowed to chatter against the wheel not contacting it evenly, the user can make the wheel out-of-round.

The way to remedy this is through dressing. If you have a diamond dresser available you may use it. OR, since our wheels are softer than the norm, you can use an old lawn mower blade to dress the wheel. Use the area of square stock near to the mounting hole (use a junk blade only). Keeping the blade flat and solid on the work table apply pressure into the wheel. DO NOT go back and forth like you would when sharpening, but rather stay in the same place to re-true the wheel.

As a side note, we have released a new instruction manual. See Here.
