hey guys i'm going to need to get a bigger ztr this year because i just picked up a 5 acre commerical lawn contract, and i will still have my 18 residential lawns. the mowers i am interested in are exmark walker and bob-cat. below i listed my likes and dislikes of each mower and some concerns i have. What oppions to you guys have on these three mowers? Which one do you guys feel are the best deal? how dose each mower hold up? how is the cut quality? and one last note this will be the last mower i will be buying till after college so it will need to last at least 6 years, i have been putting about 200hrs on a season.

Exmarks stripe great without a striping kit, and they are really nice with one.

If you are gonna go with the Exmark (which I recommend), do yourself a favor and can the 23hp idea and spend the couple of extra bucks for the 27hp model. I doesnt sound like much difference, but believe me, you'll be glad you did. 23hp is underpowered for a 60in deck.

By the way are these new machines or used.... I'm assuming new? According to exmark site they did away with the kawi's and run 23,27,28 kohlers.

Are they left overs from 2003?? Because they(exmark) have not had the 23 Kaw on a lazer since 02 or 03.

What dealer do you go to, the Farmington Hills Weingartz? All the Weingartz's have great service. I go to the one in Utica and buy all my equipment from there. Go with an exmark any day!

The Walker is a great handling and cutting machine, I run then as my only riders, but it is going to take you a long time to cut 5 acres with a Walker. I ramp up into my truck and dump, it seems like the automatic lift dump adds a couple thousand to the price.

The Walker is great for clean-ups and does a beautiful cut, but I think it would be a little slow for 5 acres.

I have (3) Bob-Cat ZTR's and have no problems at all. (1) 61" w/23 kaw, (1) 61" w/31 Gen and a 72" w/33 Gen. They are bullet proof machines and a 2-year "bumper to bumper" warranty including the belts. BUT if your dealer is crap then that would be a red flag for me. You know you cant go wrong with a E-mark either!

I run 2 walkers, and they are great machines! Don't wory about changing the deck, we do it several times a day. We go from the 48GHS to the 52 side discharge in less than 3 minutes. It sounds like you would need the high dump kit though. Good luck with your decision.

Were you in Walker Talk before?

The Walkers personally i think they stripe the nicest. Bagging will leave a better look on any lawn. These mowers are a little slower but you can get a speed up kit for them, and you can change the deck in 3 minutes already mentioned and you then could tackle your 5acre lawn with a 62" deck and a 48" on your 18 residentials and you wouldn't be happier. The out front deck is nice to, mainly because you can get up closer to things and under them. You can trim on both sides with the deck. This mower might be slow for a top speed but because of how manueverable it is helps get the job done faster. And last this mower is said to get 5000 hours by Walker. Doubt it but easily 2,500. With your use thats 12 years before its doa. And theres other ways to despose of the clipping instead of by buying a 2k hi lift.

I was at the dealer a few weeks ago and they had a new lazer z hp with a 23hp kaw on the 50" & 56" w/ Triton deck but on the 60" they offer a 23hp kol but no 23 kaw but for the 60" I would say use the 27 hp kol.
