mulching plate

Has anyone fabricated a mulching plate for a gravely 150 series wb?If so,what ga. steel should i use?A machince i bought has neither a plate or a discharge shute,its like cutting in a dust storm.

I don't know how well the deck would handle mulching (vs. just blowing it out the side). I have an older deck, and when the bagger gets full, the machine is not happy and efficiency goes down. Just with regular mowing, the deck needs to be scraped on a daily basis, mulching, I think, would only add to the problem.

If you do make a plate, go heavy, because I have had the discharge chute lifted by some larger stuff flying out.
