HI,

I have a 20HP Kohler CV-20 with a nelson pillow type muffler on it. I bought the mower used. The muffler seems very loud. It seems to be in good shape but maybe the insides are shot? Anybody have any hints..? Where do you get your parts on the web? Seems like a pretty expensive muffler and maybe it can be repacked?

Thanks

If its the same type of muffler that im thinking of, it about 26 bucks at the local power-equipment store. Just buy a new one, your ears will thank you.

my cv 18 is the same way.. we don't use it too much but i know for the valves sake it would be a good idea to replace. i priced one for around 160 and looked at how to get it off and found out it was not an easy quick fix so its stayed that way. How to you go about repacking them?? damn another thing i should have done this winter!!!lol

Check with a Koh dealer, they have several models. I put one on my 22Koh

on a Scag Sthm and One on my 52 Toro w 18 Koh. I also put an Enginaire

precleaner on the Scaq. Seems to put out more hp. Ed
