I have a lawn with the ph of 5.1, how much lime would you put down per 1000 sq.ft.? is there a chart someplace that tells this? i am sending the soil sample in for analysis, it is a lawn that was put in a year ago by someone else. thanks for any input.

I am somewhat of a newbie but I will chance answering this. The soil analysis will or should tell you how much lime per 1000 feet to put down to correct the problem. If it requires more then 50 lb per 1000 feet I will schedule more then one application for that year. I don't apply more then 50lb/1000 sq ft per application. Also if all you have is the ph level you can't accurately determine how much lime to correct the problem , I think thats when the cation exchange comes into play. Hopefully someone with more experience will confirm or correct what I have written. Besides school I get alot of my information off of this sight.
