i see they have a guard on this years attachment. do you think this is a good idea.

should i try to find a older model that doesn't have the guard.

the guard just looks like something that would break ????????????

It looks nice until you have to flip it over and pull instead of pushing what ever it is your pushing.:hammerhead:

I would have to rip it off of my machine.

I don't have the guard but think that it might help in wet conditions. I cleared a bit of wet snow from sidewalks recently and in 25 minutes my jeans were soaked thru my coveralls from the knee down.

i could use some more opinions. i'm kinda stuck on which one i should buy

i can get both of them, one with the guard and one with out. both of them i can get for $260

the thing that i don't like about the guarded unit it the guard doesn't come totally off . the sides snap off of it and your left with about 1/3 of it in the center yet.

ony opinions out there????

Kind of like the guard on the trimmer...its the first thing to come off after I walk out of the dealer. Put it this way-my prosweep is heavy enough on the broom end, I cant imagine adding any more weight to the thing.

I dont get much "backsplash" at all from the unit...I see no need for it.

Let me put it more simply, you do not want the guard. It will restrict your use of the machine by keeping you from flipping it over and pulling the debris. You need to be able to do this for two big reasons, operator fatigue:weightlifter: and getting in to corners.

does anyone know if the guard comes completely off?

i would rather buy the one with the guard and then take it completely off.
