Presently our company is charging by man hours based on a quote given before maintenance is started. Even if we go over we stick to the quote given in the contract. I know some companies charge by an hourly rate then the client is billed based on the time it took. Is one way better than the other?

Customer only sees a finished job quote. This can be hard at first till you get a feel for how long work takes

Some customers will be upset if they hear $60/hr, yet that same customer will gladly pay $200 for the same job done in 3 hours.
