andrew When I figure it .....1287sq ft @ 2" depth=7.94 cubic yards
1287 sq ft divided by 9 =143 yds sod

I came up with about 6.7 cubic yards of topsoil at 2" 1287/120 giving you # of tons @ 2 inches = 10.725 tons / 1.6= 6.703 cubic yards. never head of earthmate what is it??

hey steve
earth mate is like a mix of compost leaf matter and peat moss and a bunch of other stuff works great with sod and planting bed
thank all for replying

Out of curiosity, why the soil for the sod instead of tilling? I'm not a sod guy by any meens, but don't you want to roughly match the ph of sod and the new sod bed to help it take?
This sounds like a yardpro job and his dingo:drinkup:
