I'm in Lake Worth, I might be interested in adding that as a service if you would be willing to sub it, providing that the sod is a good quality. Do you also remove old sod/weeds- do you have a pesticide license for turf to kill the weeds? I service mostly residential so I would need to know your minimum. Thanks.

Sure.. I would be interested in working for you. I am based out western palm beach county, so your not far away. As for pesticide license, I don't have one. However, I always leave that option to a homeowner. If he or she would like to save money on tear out they are welcomed to do it theirselves. I normally bring in a sod cutter if the roots are deep and my Kubota and scrape it. If it is just weeds I can scrape it.. Pricing for tear out can vary depending on grass depth. You can have as little as 2 loads to as many as 5 loads in a 10,000 sq/ft area. That is where the difference comes in. As for the sod, I guarantee the quality on all grass. My grass comes from the glades and is matted with muck soil. Excellent...

Pricing for Palm Beach, Martin, Okeechobee Counties
Under 5000 sq/ft ---------- $.325/sq.ft
Over 5000 sq/ft ---------- $.295/sq.ft
Greater than 10000 sq/ft ----- $.275/sq.ft
Greater than 20000 sq/ft ----- $.265/sq.ft

Look forward to assisting you in the future...
Thanks for the reply...

So for 15 pallets or 7500sq ft coverage area you only charge $2250? Your only making $575 on that job? wtf? I must be missing something. Around NJ area it would be a lot more than that. Ive seen FRONT yards done for development homes less than 3000sq ft for over 2k regularly.

How do you take

$1675+ for sod supplies
$xx for any trucking or delivery
$ for Labor of yard preperation
$ for sod installation
and only get $575 ?

So in 3hrs with 3 guys or 9man hours your making $575 before your operating costs? Yeah i could make money making $10 per job but youll be pretty poor doing that lol. Just checking since i feel like im missing some of the information here.

two things. One advertising is best done as a sponsor.

second how can you deliver 15 pallets of sod from where you are to kissimmee for less than I can get sod delivered from a farm in my own county. Hell, picking up the sod myself at the farm costs $1050. and that is for 400sq ft pallets.

Installation of 15 pallets for $600. I am sure that is all properly seemed and cut out properly as well???

I mean hey if you can afford to do it that cheap, more power to you, but I wouldn't even THINK of doing it at those prices. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't even consider SUBBING it out to you at those prices.

My calculator says that is $63.88/hr. Actually he is around the average here for removal and installation.

I appreciate your concern. When you lay 400+ pallets a week, you tend to give a little better prices...

for labor or including his supplies? I wouldnt have more than one guy on the job if im only getting $63.88 per hour. Say he has 4 guys for 4 hours, its 16hrs X 63.88hr. is $1grand for just labor for that job. oh well different areas i guess.

Most of my areas, people call they have crap yards, ive cut tall yards short, then rotor tilled or if theyre short already, just rotortilled, rake'd it all and then got ready for the installation. Sure takes me longer than 4hrs to do a sod install. Heck it takes me a few hours on a couple just to do the tilling and more than that for raking, disposing of the junk from the lawn.
