i have the same mower and have been thinking about buying the dethatcher mount. I think if you have the right blades and height then bagging would work but it might be easier to use a push blower and backpack behind to get all the thatch out.

you guys are both nuts!
Rent one for 75 bucks and you'll get about 4 yds of waste.
there's no point to sellin a dethatch unless you pull up tons of ****?.

I would most definitely use a bagger to catch clippings when dethatching. GS the Jrco 48" attachment will be a whole lot faster than the 22" you will rent for $75. And dethatching makes for a greener lawn, and mimimizes the chances for fungi to take over the lawn.

Using the rake you are going to fluff up the yard and get out some minor debris along with sticks. Not really disruptive to the soil or plants. You put a power rake on that same lawn and you will shred it, that is most certainly not good for the lawn.

I use a jrco and it's a great tool. It saves a ton of time but to get all the sticks up I feel a back pack does a better job than bagging.
