Could you be more specific?

IMO, Versa Lok is great for stairs. It is a solid, 12" deep block.

It may get pretty expensive using Versa Lok for stairs.

the wall in question is 55' long and about 3.5' high plus caps. there is a 90 degree corner in which I will be incorporating steps. so the wall comes up the left side of the driveway about 30 feet and then goes 90 degrees to the left for abouut 25'. in the corner, at the back end of the driveway, I want to put in a 48" wide steps. hope that helps. I will also look on their website for more info.

I thought the theory to build stairs out of SRW was the same regardless of type of block?

Versa-lok is definitely the product of choice for your project. Stairs are extremely easy to incorporate and the cost is minimal compared to the rewards you will gain. Versa-lok has a new dvd out with step by step instructions.
