Does anyone know what the approx. weight is per cu. yd. for mulch, topsoil crushed stone and sand. Just wondering how much of any my trailer can handle? Thanks:weightlifter:

I believe the rule of thumb for crushed gravel is about 1 1/2 ton/yd. Not sure of mulch or sand but I imagine sand wouldn't be too far off that. I'm sure there are many more people on here that know more than me about this though.

stone is 1.25 tons per yard. topsoil will vary if it wet / dry so it a little hard to say.. Try to remember if your if you have a small trailer with no brakes the prob might be stopping.

CAG is correct 2500# per ton of stone.
Topsoil will be close as long as the moisture content is not high.
Sand will be closer to 3000# per yard.
