When is the Lawn Expo 2000 and where is it?
If you mean Louisville, I'm hoping to make it again this year. Hard to justify the trip but it gets me away from the grind for a few days

Last year was first year attending- what a show! Don't leave anything laying around; we had a big bag full of kids stuff & all my brochures & freebies taken :(
We'll be there unless Divine intervention changes our plans-hope to see some of you there! We'll have our Yardsmith gear on, so be on the lookout.
----------
Smitty ô¿ô
This will be my fourth trip to Louisville for the Expo. I really enjoy it and my wife gets to go the local garage and yard sales. We should have a designated place to meet for the ones who'd like to put a face with a name. Hope to see some of you there. Lynn

Mowman, the expo is in Louisville, Kentucky and it's being held July 22-24. Check Turf or Pro magazine later this spring and they have all the good info on whats happening and motel info as well. Thanks, Lynn

12 to 15 acres of outdoor demo area. 100's of indoor booths; takes 3-4 hrs just to jog thru without stopping and asking questions. Started basically as a manufacturers show to dealers, but demo to end user has grown in importance.
All types of outdoor power equip, as well as other outdoor features.
http://www.mow.org/demo/expohome.htm

This will be my third yr. attending. I make a family vacation out of it and have a real good time and enjoy the "write-off".
If you've never been you better wear comfortable shoes, it's all you can see in 2 days!

If I went I would just be that much farther behind! I would love to see it, there is something similar to that in Georgia every year but I think it is primarily for the farmers.
Homer

Hope we all get to meet Stone there, too :).
Last year was so FREAKIN HOT there wasn't anything growing anyways. But it sure was fun trying out all the backhoes & stuff; place looked like a motocross track by the time Sunday rolled around! :) I'm guessing those vendors have to level it all back to normal before they leave, too.
Met lots of die hard Dixie fans at the ZTR corral, where you could demo about 15 diff. ZTR's one right after the other. Lotsa donuts & fig. 8's goin on :) . Never had so much fun in my life.
Will definitely plan on being there this year; maybe we could meet at the indoor lobby just outside the indoor vendor gym where all the round lunch tables are. Keep us posted.
----------
Smitty ô¿ô
I have better things to
do than to drive to the middle of flyover
country just to look at some new overpriced
equipment that I can buy on the used market
at 10% of new retail.
Look for me that week end at the blue water
motel in wildwood crest nj.

Almost every big name player in the "lawnscaping" industry is displaying in this venue, and you don't know what you've missed until you've missed it! Every lawn care professional within a reasonable distance should experience this show at least once to appreciate it! I definitely will be there, for the fourth time. Thanks, Lynn

I would got on a casino line haul bus for the round trip cost of $10 after cash rebate from a casino.
Frankly I have more than enough equipment at
this time. I use sulkies behind my unit 99% of the time and tranny breakage is a fact of (my) life. One must always pay attention to the trannsmission output shaft bearings and go the breakage of
the snap ring behind that bearing when the bearing starts to wear out.
What happens is the needle bearings tend to
go in about a years time of usage. It's no
big deal to rebuild the peerless trannys
yourself.
I don't mow in the rain so the gear drives work for me. Plus slow speed=better quality of cut.

The Louisville Expo started as, and still is, a manufacturer to dealer show. There seems to have been more emphasis to draw end users thru the 90s.
The advantage is that the manufacturer is represented heavily there. Many other shows during the year are attended by distributers. If you have a particular question or suggestion about your equipment, you can often find someone at Louisville who can directly address your questions. Not too often can you get this opportunity.
----------
Jim
North central Indiana

(Almost: about 10 yrs ago, Echo decided it was too good for shows, so only time you see Echo equip at a show is if a distributer or dealer appears.) Lesco won't be there, but you can try anything at the local dealer.
The show can be mundane after a few visits, but if you haven't been there, you should go and then make up your own mind.
----------
Jim
North central Indiana
